2.18 MW of Solar Spread Over Two Separate Projects for Southern California Cold Storage Company
Southern California cold storage company contracts Revel Energy to develop two 1.09 MW-DC commercial solar systems. Spread over two points of interconnection, both buildings will total almost 2.2 MW of new commercial solar.
The systems put environmental benefits and energy cost savings at the forefront for this California business with several locations nationally.
The signing comes as another welcome boost to Revel’s sustained growth. As the company continues its entrance into PPA offerings, new signings are welcome news to stakeholders.
At 2.18 MW spread over two points of interconnection, the projects will be similar in size to the Hokto Kinoko project (1.065 MW pictured above) combined.
According to Energy Toolbase, the systems spread over two buildings (each 1,092 kW in size) will produce 6,400,000 kWh of free electricity each year. These savings are estimated to provide a short 2.3 year payback period for the investment.
Additionally, per the EPA Greenhouse Gas Equivalencies Calculator, producing 6,400,000 kWh annually with solar is like planting over 5,200 acres of new mature trees, also similar to avoiding the CO2 produced by 503,000 gallons of gasoline through self-generation.
