Many businesses have seen their rates more than double – with utilities citing a wide variety of reasons like increased grid maintenance costs and aging infrastructure as to why rates will continue to climb.
Taking control of their rising electricity costs, Lotus Labels tasked Revel Energy to design a custom energy solution, built to meet the exact needs of the facility.
Looking to ensure a sustainable future for the business, Lotus Label is now powered by almost 350 kW of rooftop commercial solar for their Brea facility. Also supported by an energy storage system to optimize electricity savings and reduce demand charges, this investment quickly pays for itself.
Revel’s skilled engineering and project management teams designed and constructed the 350 kilowatt rooftop and carport system that uses almost 900 commercial solar panels. The energy storage system and solar panels are connected by 9 industry leading SolarEdge inverters to offset about 84% of the electricity the building would typically use during the day.
Working with Brea authorities and code enforcement along the way, Revel’s expert team ensured the project received all necessary certifications and permits for efficient interconnection with Southern California Edison to achieve permission to operate.
The system is expected to produce about $4 million dollars in electricity savings over its 30-year lifespan, increasing the building value by $1.5 million dollars.
Taking advantage of incentives and programs like the solar investment tax credit, the self-generation incentive program, net energy metering, state and federal bonus depreciation, this carport and rooftop commercial solar plus energy storage solution quickly pays for itself.
