K&M Visser Dairy Agricultural Solar Tracking System

At the heart of the San Joaquin Valley, K&M Visser Dairy has been producing milk and other dairy products for more than 20 years. K&M Visser Dairy looked towards an agricultural solar installation to retain cash they would otherwise be using on electricity bills.

Agricultural production consumes large amounts of energy while California’s Central Valley pays some of the highest energy rates in the US. Expenses from direct and indirect energy use have been consistently rising, leaving many exposed to elevated rates decided by their energy provider.

K&M Visser Dairy didn’t want their utility to dictate how they used energy, so after contacting the Revel Energy team, a plan was quickly set in place and executed. Revel fit a 771 kW agricultural solar ground mount tracker system to the property, so the 2,000+ panels track the sun through the sky for optimal production. Nine inverters convert the direct current to quality AC power, enough for even a high-production day at the dairy.

Revel Energy’s project managers worked with Tulare County authorities and code enforcement along the way to collect the necessary certifications & Interconnection with the utility company and Permission to operate.

The system is expected to produce over $8m of electricity in its 30 year lifespan.
